Using Twitter to Advertise Your Business

Using social media for your business creates the opportunity to connect with millions of potential customers and others in your industry for free. If you aren’t one of the 100 million monthly users checking into Twitter, you’re missing out on a great opportunity to reach out to your customer base.

While connecting with customers is the most important reason to investigate joining Twitter, there are other great reasons to sign up for the micro-blogging service. What are they? Well, free branding and marketing, for one. You don’t have to be a huge company like HBO or Disney to brand yourself. You just have to get out there and introduce yourself—show people what you’re all about. Tell them about your products and promote brand loyalty. They’re a captive audience! You can keep up with your competitors, industry news and trends, and give away coupon codes and promotions.

If you’re interested in paying for advertising, the Hollywood Reporter posted an article regarding the release of Twitter advertising for small businesses and reports that over 3,000 businesses have already signed up for this service.
